MUGA DEVELOPMENT GETS THE GREEN LIGHT!
“We are delighted to announce that the Mayo Local Community Development Committee as the Local Action Group (LAG) has approved funding under the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 for a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) at our Community Centre in Ardnaree.
This outdoor astro turf facility, which will be fully fenced with floodlights and two ‘hurling walls’ will be of great benefit to all in the area and certainly a boost to youth sports, schools and fitness activity groups.
We would like to thank the Mayo LAG, Mayo North East Leader, Moy Valley and Mayo County Council. A special thanks to all involved who worked hard in making this a reality and to Simon Beale for assistance with planning.
The €142,000 allocated funding represents 75% of total project cost with additional funding to be raised through local fundraising initiatives. We are confident everyone will pull together and support fundraising events with the help of local organisations to secure this facility for the local youth. ”
